Temperature resistance

Temperature extremes can cause a number of issues for components, including microstructural changes, thermal fatigue and flexing.

Heat resistant thermal barrier coatings, such as plasma spray and HVOF coatings, can allow higher operating temperatures whilst protecting the component from damage. A ceramic or polymer coating can be applied to enhance temperature resistance and provide other desirable protective qualities.
